Travelling by car or motorcycle gives you the freedom to explore the Algarve region at your own pace. Below is a simple guide on how to reach the Algarve International Circuit by road:

From Faro

  • Route: Take the A22 motorway west towards Lagos. Exit at junction 3 for Mexilhoeira Grande and follow the signs to the Algarve Circuit (Autódromo Internacional do Algarve).
  • Distance: Around 85 km
  • Travel time: About 1 hour
  • Tip: Stop in Albufeira or Vilamoura for a short break and beautiful coastal views.

From Lisbon

  • Route: Drive south on the A2 motorway, then join the A22 heading west. Exit at junction 3 for Mexilhoeira Grande and follow the signs to the circuit.
  • Distance: Around 290 km
  • Travel time: About 2.5 to 3 hours
  • Tip: Consider a stop in Setúbal for seafood or in the Alentejo region to see vineyards and olive groves.

From Porto

  • Route: Take the A1 motorway south to Lisbon, then continue via the A2 and A22 as above.
  • Distance: Around 550 km
  • Travel time: About 5 to 6 hours
  • Tip: Break up the trip with visits to Coimbra or Lisbon, both rich in culture and history.

From Seville (Spain)

  • Route: Drive west on the A49 motorway towards Portugal. After crossing the border, continue on the A22 motorway and exit at junction 3 for Mexilhoeira Grande. Follow the signs to the circuit.
  • Distance: Around 250 km
  • Travel time: About 2.5 to 3 hours
  • Tip: Enjoy scenic stops in Huelva (Spain) or Tavira (Portugal) along the way.
